Honesty, Integrity, & Accuracy, are very important characteristics for a County Auditor. I see these in Joel as well as other important characteristics for Leadership and Management in an Office that requires exceptional Public Trust. I worked closely with Joel when he was Democrat County Chair, supporting the Web Site he established. Joel knows how to Delegate, while holding strong accountability from those who have been given that trust. Joel will be fair to all regardless of Party Affiliation in the performance of his duties. His Loyalty as a Democrat will not extend to giving ANY Democrat unfair advantage or carte blanche to go out of bounds.
Joels Opponent, apparently cannot be trusted to get the details right in his Affidavit to Run for this office, or to remember his own Party Affiliation. The Contrast is glaring. I’m supporting Joel.

I have known and trusted Joel since 1986. He is honest and ethical, direct in his communication, willing to take responsibility for his actions and expects the same accountability from others. His background in corporate and people management, information technology and as Chair of the Linn County Democratic Party serve as a strong foundation for his position as Linn County Auditor. Joel has proven leadership capabilities that include his ability to see the big picture, listen to other points of view, ask reasoned questions, and when necessary, dig into the details to develop sound, fiscally responsible solutions.

He is fair and respected by independent voters and members of both parties. I am pleased Joel is willing to serve as our County Auditor. We need more dedicated individuals like Joel willing to work for the residents of Linn County. It is my pleasure to serve as his campaign treasurer.

I’ve known Joel for 25 years and worked with him for a brief period in the 1980s and Joel is the kind for person we need in government. He will hold people accountable and provide the leadership the Auditor’s office needs.
